2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Create, manage, and secure user accounts
  • Publish listings and display user content as intended by the user
  • Enable internal messaging and user-to-user communication
  • Review and respond to reports, enforce Site rules, and moderate content

3. Public Content and User-Visible Information

Listings are public by default. Your listing text, photos, pricing, location details, and any other information you include in a listing may be viewable by anyone – including unregistered visitors, search engines, and web crawlers.

Protect yourself:

  • Do not include sensitive personal information in listings or photos – this includes home addresses, government ID numbers, Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, phone numbers (unless intentional), and other private data
  • Review your photos before uploading – check for visible addresses, license plates, ID documents, or other sensitive details in the background
  • If the Site displays approximate location information (city or area), it is based solely on information you provide – ShooterBoard does not determine or verify your location

Your username and public profile information may also be visible to other users and to the public.

4. Photos and Metadata (EXIF)

Uploaded photographs may contain embedded metadata (EXIF data), which can include device model, camera settings, date and time, and in some cases GPS location coordinates.

  • We recommend removing sensitive metadata – especially GPS data – before uploading photos to the Site
  • The Site may strip some metadata during image processing, but we do not guarantee complete removal in all cases
  • You are responsible for reviewing your images before uploading them

5. How We Share Information

We may share limited information with the following categories of recipients:

  • Service providers that help us operate and maintain the Site – including hosting providers, cloud storage, content delivery networks (CDN), email delivery services, security and anti-spam tools, and analytics providers (if enabled). These providers are given access only to the information necessary to perform their services.
  • Authorities or third parties when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or government request, or when disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of ShooterBoard, our users, or the public. This includes responding to valid subpoenas, court orders, and law enforcement requests.
  • A successor operator in the event that ShooterBoard transitions to a formal business entity (such as an LLC) or is transferred to a new operator. In such a case, user account data and Site data may be transferred to the successor as described in the Terms of Service. We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of any such transfer.

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

After deletion: When you delete content or request account deletion, we will remove your information from the active Site within a reasonable timeframe. However, backups, security logs, and cached copies may retain data for a limited additional period. Certain records may be retained longer where required by law or necessary for legitimate security and fraud-prevention purposes.
